  • Synopsis: A trade test film. In the wide open spaces of North-West Australia cattle are transported in giant 48-ton diesel trucks - operated by WH Brown and Son, a BP Agent - from Anna Plains to the railhead at Meekatharra, a 760 mile journey through some of the roughest and toughest country in Australia. 'The Cattle Carters' tells the story of two unlikely friends - an uptight Englishman and a laid back Australian - who set out on this journey together. GVs walking off to truck and driving off. 00:10:06 LA POV from cattle cart on truck off Wal talking to cattle. 00:10:35 CU HA Truck passes by. Song begins 'So we're cattle men…' 00:10:45 LS Trav Truck in motion over dusty dirty road. 00:10:58 XLS Australian outback consisting of winding road and rock verges. 00:11:08 HA LS Truck on rocky terrain motionless. 00:11:14 Wal and Brocky change tyre. 00:11:42 Tyre resting on branch, breaks free and rapidly rolls down rocky verge, Wal and Brocky chase after it. GVs off tyre and the two chasing it continue. 00:12:18 Tyre rolls up to ant hill, Wal puts hand into tyre and is startled by ants crawling up and onto his hands and body. Brocky beats tyre with stick, they proceed to push tyre up hill. 00:13:30 Wal slips and tyre rolls down hill again they give up and rest by truck. 00:14:23 LA LS Aboriginal men push tyre to side of truck. 00:14:41 CU Aboriginal man has white bandage wrapped around head. Brocky screws tyre to truck, Wal gives Aboriginal men a cigarette each then Wal and Brocky have a smoke themselves. 00:15:40 Wal starts camp fire and cooks tin food consisting off Irish stew, Tropical Fruit Salad and Plum Tomatoes. They proceed to eat. 00:17:42 GVs truck driving off through outback. Song re-commences. GVs Truck driving at dusk. 00:19:05 Wal and Brocky stop off for cigarette and uses a billabong or small lake for drinking and washing faces. 00:20:27 Truck drives off. 00:20:39 XLS Truck driving slowly through rocky terrain. 00:21:15 GVs at Nullagine. Truckers arrive and drink beer on table underneath corrugated iron roofed property. 00:22:16 LS Trav Truck facing camera. Int. Truck driver. 00:22:37 POV off dusty desert road. Cross dissolve sleepy Wal. 00:23:24 Brocky fixes tyre with 12 inch crescent spanner and gets under truck. 00:24:05 Brocky BCU face straining looks right and sees a black snake or could be a Small Eyed Snake or Eastern Small Eyed Snake. 00:24:29 Wal smokes cigarette on rock edge CA Brocky hits snake with spanner. Brocky is very angry and vents this towards the inept Wal. Brocky drives off leaving Wal alone then Wal runs off and catches up. 00:25:28 GVs truck driving through outback. 'Cattle men cattle men' song re-commences. 00:26:11 Dusk LS truck with head lights on driving by. 00:27:17 MS Wal and Brocky sat by truck engine and examine it. 00:28:06 MS Trav Brocky walking purposely facing camera. Truck drives up behind him and picks him up. 00:29:16 White Bull or cows walk off truck tilt up to Wal and Brocky. 00:29:31 CU Galahs on fence cattle in BG. 00:29:59 GVs Bulls in paddock.
